Louis Belzile studied at Ontario College Art in Toronto from 1948 to 1952
1953 - 1954, studied in Paris with André Lhote.
February 15th, 1955, signs the "Manifeste des Plasticiens" forming the Plasticiens group with Fernand Toupin, Jean-Paul Jerome and Jauran.
The Plasticien
manifesto outlinined their movement against the non-figurative "Automatist" style.
Their goal was to replace gestural painting with more geometric, architectural compositions.
Since the Fifties, Louis Belzile has taken part in a hundred individual and group expositions.
The work of Louis Belzile are held in the principal museums of Quebec and Canada.
